Collaborating With Recruiters and Employment Agencies

Between 10 to 20 percent of job seekers find a position via a recruiter or employment agency. These figures can fluctuate widely, depending on the economy. During the tech-industry boom years from 1998 to 2000, the job search firm business grew more than 20 percent per year. When the economy fell with the burst of the internet industry bubble, and investors finally felt all the hot air escaping from the bogus business plan balloon, more than 65 percent of recruiting agencies, mostly smaller, one- to four-person shops, closed their doors. But today the large national organizations are still in business, and many of the smaller shops are building back up with the improved economic outlook.

Cover Letter For Resumes - I was told to Email itð€¦Should I?

For practicality emailing a cover letter for resume is great. A few clicks of the mouse and the resume is delivered.  The draw back to this is what guarantees the email is printed?  What even guarantees you its even opened?  For me there"s more to job searching than just emailing.  Yes it"s a great way to submit but just doing that never brought me any results.

What I suggested to her was to put together a custom cover letter for her resumes and email it, followed up by a hard copy delivered in person to the interviewer. My goal was to always hand deliver a cover letter for resume to the interviewer.  I understand email is practical, at the same time it got me thinking of all the applicants that would find it easy to send it in via email, because it was hardly any work.  To stand out, the personal visit would show the interest I had on the job and I suggested she did this also.

After having the opportunity to hand deliver the custom letter for resumes. I would mail, the same day a thank you letter, thanking them for taking the time to talk to me and again detailing the easiest way to contact me.  Most people don"t even say thank you in person.  I know the thank you note goes along way to have you stand out and sell your professionalism.
