Sample Resume Objectives

When writing a resume many people leave off the objective.  Depending on your career level and title, this can be an okay move.  For the most part I suggest all entry level and mid career professionals include an objective on their resumes.  The purpose of the objective is to state your purpose.  You want to identify your desired title and tailor the resume by including the companyð€™s name and if possible the department in which you want to work.  If you choose to, you can also describe your ideal environment. Optionally you may also include what you have to offer the company.  I strongly suggest you include this piece of information.  Remember you want to sell yourself, your experience and any contribution you have to offer the company.  Everybody wants to know what you can do for their organization. Here are three resume objective samples for you to consider tweaking and using on your own resume.

An Educated Guess

Often, deciding what to list on your resume in terms of education is to ride the horns of the proverbial dilemma. Too high an academic level can remove you from the candidate pool as the employer may fear that a.) you will demand an exorbitant salary or b.) usurp him as manager, as his own education is not as impressive as yours. The opposite side of the coin indicates that too little education could also knock you out of the ball park, and not in the way that you"d like, as the employer will view you as a.) basically unschooled and/or b.) not ambitious.

Telephonic Interview: Getting selected over phone

*1.BE PREPARED: Be prepared for the interview by working upon a few pointsð€”

*· Change your answering machine to something professional during a job hunt. I am sure you don"t want your interviewer to hear JLO or AKON singing while your phone rings.

*· Take notes or pin your resume next to the phone.

*· Incase you know the time of the interview, change the call waiting option. It can be very distractive.

*· Please lock yourself in the room so that the cacophony outside doesn"t disturb the course of the interview.

*· Be prepared to be asked questions about your previous employer.

*· Finish your research about the organization way before time, so that a sudden telephonic interview doesn"t puzzle/scare you.

*2.HOW TO ANSWER:

*· Be short and precise. Avoid unnecessary jabber on the phone. If you feel the need to fill in the gap , you can ask questions about the company

*· Be confident and stand up and talk. It automatically makes you attentive.

*· Answer all questions politely. Don"t hesitate to discuss your demands and expectations from the post.

*· Studies prove that when you dress appropriately, your responses automatically become professional. So make sure you don"t attend the call in your bath robe.

*· Take constant notes and be attentive.

*· Remember your ultimate goal is to sell yourself.

*· Confirm your callers name before the interview begins and try addressing him by his first name while talking.

*3.BE PATIENT:

*·  Let the interviewer do most of the talking

*·  Listen intently before answering.

*4.BASIC MANNERISM :

*·  Do not chew gum or eat and drink while the telephonic interview is on. It gets noticed instantly.

*·  Smile ð€“ It comes through from your voice

*·  Avoid ahmm, euh, etc.

A successful telephonic interview will need efforts from your end. Ask a friend to call up and practice. It"s very important to impress the interviewer here. With no body language to judge from, it"s tougher to convince the caller. As rightly said, "Practice makes a man perfect," you will need some practice to excel at telephonic interviews.
